Trichocereus Bridgesii Monstrose 'Penis Cactus'

The Trichocereus Bridgesii Monstrose, commonly known as the "Penis Cactus," is a rare and highly sought-after mutation of the Bolivian Torch Cactus. This unique cactus forms thick, irregular, and smooth-skinned growths that resemble its namesake, making it a conversation piece for any succulent collection.

🌵 Care Instructions:

  • Light: Prefers full sun to bright, indirect light. If grown indoors, place near a south- or west-facing window for optimal growth.

  • Watering: Allow soil to completely dry out between waterings. Water deeply but infrequently, reducing watering during winter dormancy.

  • Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus mix with added pumice or perlite to prevent root rot.

  • Temperature: Thrives in warm temperatures between 65°F-85°F (18°C-29°C). Protect from frost, as it is not cold-hardy and should be kept above 40°F (4°C).

  • Humidity: Prefers a dry environment. Avoid high humidity, which can lead to fungal issues.

  • Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring and summer), feed with a diluted cactus fertilizer every 4-6 weeks for optimal growth.

  • Growth & Size: Can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) tall, developing unique, sculptural, columnar forms over time.

  • Pests/Diseases: Generally low-maintenance, but watch for mealybugs and root rot from overwatering.

  • Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets and humans, but spines (if present) can be irritating.

🌟 Fun Fact:

This cactus is a mutated version of the standard Trichocereus Bridgesii and is prized among collectors for its rare and unusual form.
